AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL ''Making the Invisible VISIBLE'' campaign.

German street art collective Mentalgassi have collaborated with Brothers and Sisters creative team Lisa Jelliffe and Kirsten Rutherford to create a series of unique art installations for Amnesty International.

“Making the invisible visible” uses lenticular fence posters. The art installation depicts a close up of six well-known individuals who have suffered unfortunate abuse regarding human rights acts. The victims' faces become only visible to those approaching the fence. Front on, the images become invisible. A plaque on each site alerts passers-by to an Amnesty website (www.amnesty.org.uk/fence) where they can sign a petition calling for justice for the victims.

“Mentalgassi’s images are unexpected, arresting and emotive. Their surprising use of faces on fence railings reminded us of prison bars which seemed like a unique way to highlight Amnesty’s work.”

Mentalgassi are a collective of three artists from Berlin. Their distinctive photographic street art is seen throughout Europe, with their work being included in Miami’s Art Basel Fair, Bilbao’s Getxo festival and Serbia’s Exit Festival. Their work can be seen at www.mentalgassi.de or http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mentalgassi/194987001606

Social initiaves that can brighten our day: ''Say Something Nice'' by Improv Everywhere

Imrov Everywhere in collaboartion with the Guggenheim Museum took on a very enlightening and socially beneficial initiative. In New York Union Square , a wooden  podium with a speaker and the tag ''SAY SOMETHING NICE'' were placed in public giving thus the chance to each passer by to grasp the speaker and shout out something nice to the people walking by :) .  How nice as an initiative, so sweet, expressive, genuine, communicative, funny, surprising, spontaneous, humane... An excellent practice, something simple to conceive and implement while adding so much psychical satisfaction,  pleasure, smiles, fun, amusement, social care... feelings that the contemporary Society is deprived of and thus in need of! I wish something similar was also organized in Greece adding thus optimism and color in our routine. n*joy the video attached below :)and never forget to SAY SOMETHING NICE to all the people around/besides you !

Curaj, Romania!

Piraeus Bank Romania is the Principal Sponsor of the 2012 Olympic Games Romanian Committee, a sponsorship going live for the years 2011-2012 and with the ultimate aim to bring the people as close as possible to the Olympic Games festive mood, spirit as well as Olympic ethics and values! Therefore, the attached viral video has been recently aired via youtube channel and a relative facebook webpage is available @ http://www.facebook.com/curajromania ! And these are not the only actions, but only the introductory ones :) The famous Romanian runner athlete Alexandru Teofilescu is starring in the particular viral video and sends a national message for the Olympic Encouragement of the Romanian National Team! Curaj Romania :)

Piraeus Bank Bulgaria joins forces with Unicef!

Piraeus Bank Bulgaria has launched a MasterCard credit card along with Unicef; each transaction accomplished with this special card entails the donation to Unicef by both the card holder and the bank.

The campaign is itself a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) action launched in May 2011 and promoted via TV commercial, Print material (Point of sales and print ads) as well as internet by the launch of a microweb. Both the ‘’Petite Prince’’ creative of the card plastic as well as the touching and emotional story of the TVC aim at attracting the public interest and inviting people to contribute to Unicef in favor of kids that need extra reasons as well as psychival strength to smile :) The bank itself becomes an activist by additionally donating to the Unicef foundation!

The tv commercial is shot in black and white, dark colors trying to project the melancholy, sadness and misery featuring the kids’ lives. While everybody goes out with friends, has a drink and some fun, thousands of children are not in equivalent situations; they live in institutions, may not have parents, but they do preserve some hope deep inside! So, Piraeus Bank invites people to join its CSR action and together help these children save their hope for tomorrow! Since images speak louder than words, N*joy the artwork of the respective subtitled tv commercial !

The FAVELA PAINTING CSR project

A splash of colour and design can go a long way toward beautifying a grey, ugly space. The Favela Painting project aims at adding some lively color to the slums of Rio de Janeiro by means of large, community-driven murals. And this is to be achieved by incorporating training and employment for the local residents. The idea conceivers are the Dutch artist duo Haas&Hahn. Dre Urhahn, one of the several artists participating in the project wisely comments: “This work of art can make a colorful difference in the lives of local individuals, the community and the city of Rio. It has the potential of working as a catalyst in the processes of social renewal and change.” I proudly add it in the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) exemplifications I intend to add in my blogspot.

The Favela Painting has already completed two community painting projects in Vila Cruzeiro—Rio's most notorious slum—along with the first portion of O Morro, its current effort to paint an entire hillside slum. Some 34 houses and 7,000 square meters of Praça Cantão in Santa Marta have already been transformed through paint, and the project hopes to paint even more of the hillside. In each of its projects, Favela has focused on recruiting local residents to do much of the painting, including training and paying them. In this latest one, local inhabitants were trained through a partnership with Brazilian paint company TintasCoral on everything from different types of paint to safety measures while working on scaffolding.
Favela Painting is supported by Firmeza Foundation, and recently the decorative paint division of Dutch AkzoNobel.
